HED Group - We are proud to supply RO membranes from Dupont, the manufacturer, in Vietnam.
An RO water filter membrane, short for Reverse Osmosis, refers to the process of reverse osmosis and is made from Polyamide material.
External Surface of the RO Membrane: The entire external surface of the RO filter membrane is covered with a plastic paper layer. This layer functions to tightly seal the internal components.
Middle Section of the RO Membrane: The material used to create the RO filter membrane is very special, known as Thin Film Composite (TFC). Layers of TFC form clusters of filter membranes stacked on top of each other and rolled into a spiral around the central water conduit. Each cluster consists of a cushioning layer, a filtering layer, and a permeating layer.
Central Shaft: The central shaft, also known as the central water conduit, is where the purified water flows after being filtered through the membrane.
Before reaching the RO membrane, water undergoes pre-treatment. This pre-treatment process removes impurities, dirt, and suspended solids from the water and absorbs harmful substances. As a result, the water quality improves by the time it reaches the RO membrane, which helps protect the membrane more effectively.
The operating principle of the RO membrane is unique because it completely reverses the normal osmosis process. This membrane functions based on the movement of water molecules through the pressure exerted by a pump. The pressure pump creates a strong force that pushes water through the membrane layers, thereby forcing impurities, metals, viruses, bacteria, and other contaminants into a low-pressure area, which then follows the wastewater stream out.
With the pump's force, the water entering the membrane experiences very high pressure. The water flows in a spiral direction across the surface of the TFC layers and then collects in the central water conduit (purified water). The permeating layer in the middle of the filter helps ensure even water flow across the membrane surface.
Dupont is a global leader in filtration and separation technology with over 70 years of experience. Dupont provides advanced ion exchange and membrane science solutions that make drinking water safer and cleaner for families and communities; help industries and markets operate more efficiently, productively, and sustainably; and make water scarcity challenges more manageable, regardless of where they arise. Dupont helps address difficult water challenges.
Depending on the water source and the requirements for treated water output, Dupont offers various RO membrane models suitable for specific applications.
