WHAT IS REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE

The process is controlled by the pressure of water flowing through a semi-permeable membrane from a solution with high salt concentration to a solution with lower salt concentration. In the reverse osmosis process, both water and salt pass through the membrane. Water passes through at a high rate, while salt ions pass through at a lower rate. The difference in passage rates leads to the separation of water from salt.

USES OF RO MEMBRANE

1. To remove dissolved salts (TDS) from various water sources such as brackish water, river water, well water, groundwater, wastewater, and seawater.
2. RO is also used for recovering valuable products such as medicines and chemicals from water.
3. In ultra-pure water (UPW) applications, RO is used to remove TOC.
