RO - short for Reverse Osmosis - is a device in water treatment systems designed to remove impurities from water. RO membranes are widely used in household water filtration systems as well as in industrial and commercial applications.
RO membranes have ultra-fine filtration sizes of 0.0001 µm. RO membranes only allow molecules smaller than the filter pore size to pass through, effectively removing 99% of water pollutants such as heavy metals, bacteria, pesticides, and only allowing water molecules to pass through. Dirt, bacteria, and heavy metals cannot pass through the filter pores and are removed through the wastewater outlet.
